About the Author

Ali Barnett is a poet, comic maker, and fiction writer. She completed her MFA at UBC in 2022 with a focus on using a hybridity of forms (poetry, collage, photographs, comics, short autofiction) to explore experiences of sex work, mental health, drug use, and grief. She is currently pursuing a PhD in the Social Dimensions of Health at the University of Victoria where her research uses participatory arts-based methods to explore the intersection of disability, chronic illness, and sex work. Her poetry has been published in CV2, Prism International, and BARE.
